LAX APM T5.5 Terminal core competition

Design-Build Team: Corgan, Architect of Record + Hensel Phelps, General Contractor

Los Angeles World Airport, Los Angeles

77,000 sq ft

The reinterpretation of Mid-Century Modern aesthetic guides the overall massing and material design of the T5.5 Core. The vertical height of the T5.5 Core intuitively provides a visual hierarchy between Terminals 5 and 6. The T5.5 Core conveniently connects adjacent Terminals both on landside & airside, and provides impeccable views to the LAX Theme Building and the airfield. Flexibility for future airport and airline club expansion is imprinted into the design concept to efficiently align with the owner budgets, tenant program requirements, and cost estimates.
